Since our foundation in 1987, our sole purpose at wema is to teach music and inspire our students. We cater for all ages, so whether you are learning for your own personal enjoyment or wish to kick start your career in the music industry, wema is the place for you!
Our wema school of rock program offers the perfect place to start jamming in a real band. We teach our students the art of music in a fun and relaxed environment. We group our students accordingly based on their experience, age and level so they can learn music and grow with other students.

Stop practicing in the bedroom and start jamming in a real band!
For the enthusiastic beginners, the wema jam sessions are the perfect place to start. Our aim is to foster young talent in a fun and relaxed environment so students can get a feel for what it’s like to be in a real band. Musicians of all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate and will be grouped according to their level of experience and musical interests.
What it offers:
- weekly sessions at the hen house rehearsal studio run by highly
experienced, professionally trained music industry figures. - access to the latest equipment and introduction/education on the use of electric guitars, bass guitars, effects pedals, amplification,
microphones and pa’s. - education on the ins and outs of starting a band including; song choice, developing a repertoire, stage presence etc.
- development of a small repertoire of songs that will be performance ready.
- opportunity to perform at the annual awards show, big gig and various community gigs.

Our teachers specialise in teaching all contemporary styles of music. Lessons can be adapted to meet the requirements of the student, from beginner to advance.
Students also have the option to enroll in the Australian Guild of Music Education (AGMED) theory and practical examinations for their chosen instrument.

My introduction to WEMA was an audition for one of their up and coming bands (which was later to be named Felix).
